Healthcare executives continue to rank financial challenges as the top issue facing them from year to year. That’s according to the annual survey conducted by ACHE, which solicits opinions from hospital CEOs nationwide to put a finger on the pulse of the main challenges they say they have to overcome. Speaking on the results, ACHE CEO Deborah J. Bowen, FACHE, CAE, said the ongoing disparity between the cost of care and reimbursements from Medicare/Medicaid coupled with the ever-increasing salary demands of top talent is putting many healthcare organizations in tenuous financial circumstances. Rounding out the top three concerns were governmental mandates and patient safety/quality of care. To read the report or learn more from ACHE about the state of the industry, visit ache.org.
